$65.00/BB100 Bath & Body Basics (3 hours) no materials fee

This course will educate you on the many raw ingredients that are used to make up your final product of soap, body butter, lip balm, salve, bath salts and so much more. This 3 hour course will introduce you to to properties of these raw ingredients as well using exfoliants, natural colors and natural aromas. You will also gain basic knowledge about how to forumulate a recipe. You will also walk away with knowldge about the regulations set forth from the Food and Drug Administration on how to properly label your products. Handouts as well as a sampling of raw ingredients will be provided.

$135.00/BB101 Basic Cold Process Soap Making (3 hours) $25.00 materials fee already added to cost

This course will introduce you to the wonderul world of cold process soap making. have you been afraid to make soap because of your fear of sodium ydroxide (lye)? No need to be scared, sodium hydroxide is the caustic agent that unified your oils and butter with the liquid lye solution to make soap. Here you will have hands on experience on how to make your first batch of soap. In this course you will learn:

Brief history of soap
Materials needed and what kind of prep work you need to do before you begin
All about sodium hydroxide and the necessary precaustions you need to take
How to formulate a recipe
Using natural ingredients to produce a natural log of soap, essential oils, herbs and spices.
After you make the soap, what next? Insulation, gel phase, cutting, curing and storing
Proper labeling requirments

You will take home a resource manual with recipes, list of suppliers and your own batch of soap (2)

You will also be provided with goggles, gloves, & face mask.
